Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 July 2026
The short version: ReadyCert helps you prepare for Cyber Essentials. It is preparation guidance based on what you tell us — not certification, and not a guarantee that you'll pass. Only an IASME-licensed certification body can certify you.
1. Agreement
These terms are the agreement between you and ReadyCert for use of the app at app.readycert.co.uk. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you're using ReadyCert on behalf of a business, you confirm you're authorised to accept these terms for it.
2. What ReadyCert is — and isn't
- ReadyCert prepares you for Cyber Essentials (Basic self-assessment): it maps your setup, checks your answers against the scheme's requirements, lists your gaps, and drafts the documents and answers you'll need.
- Everything ReadyCert produces is preparation guidance based on the information you provide ("self-attestation"). Its accuracy depends on the accuracy of your answers.
- ReadyCert is not a certification body and does not issue Cyber Essentials certificates. Certification is carried out only by IASME-licensed bodies. A "Ready to certify" status means your answers indicate you're prepared — it is not a pass or a guarantee of one.
- ReadyCert does not connect to, scan, or access your live systems, and nothing here is legal or professional compliance advice.
3. Accounts
You need an account to use ReadyCert. Keep your login details secure and don't share them — you're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at mail@readycert.co.uk if you think it's been compromised. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
4. Free and Pro plans, billing and cancellation
- The scoping wizard, readiness check, dashboard verdict and gap list are free.
- Pro unlocks the fix guides, generated documents, the answer pack and the year-round layer, for an annual subscription. The price shown at checkout is the price that applies; any founder/launch price is honoured for as long as your subscription stays active.
- Subscriptions are billed annually in advance and renew automatically unless cancelled. You can cancel any time from Billing, which opens Stripe's customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of your paid year, and you keep Pro access until then.
- Except where the law requires otherwise, annual payments are non-refundable once the period has started. If you think you've been charged in error, contact us and we'll put it right.
- We may change plans or pricing for future terms; we'll give reasonable notice, and changes never affect the year you've already paid for.
5. Your content and our platform
Your answers, business information and the documents generated for you are yours — you can edit, export or delete them, and you're free to use the generated documents for your certification. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and process them to run the service. The ReadyCert application, its content, question logic and design remain ours.
6. Acceptable use
Please don't misuse the service — for example, don't try to break or overload it, access other businesses' data, resell or copy the platform itself, or use it unlawfully. We may suspend accounts that do.
7. Disclaimers
ReadyCert is provided "as is". We work hard to keep our guidance aligned with the current Cyber Essentials requirements, but we don't warrant that using ReadyCert will result in certification, that it's error-free, or that it will always be available. Certification decisions rest entirely with the IASME-licensed body that assesses you.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, ReadyCert isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for a failure to obtain or keep certification, and our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. ReadyCert is a preparation tool, and the responsibility for your certification and your actual security controls remains yours.
9. Suspension and termination
You can stop using ReadyCert and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken. You can delete your business and its data yourself from Billing.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll change the date at the top and, for material changes, let you know. Continuing to use ReadyCert means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
